IMOPCA  Invisible Musuem of Post-Contemporary Art
2008-Present
Digital

Invisible Museum of Post Contemporary Art: IMOPCA was created out of a need to facilitate an architectural relationship between unconventional practice and one that also evolves in tandem with the trajectory of the work.

02.UFO- HOUSE

Inspired by the Sanzhi UFO House, a set of abandoned, never-completed pod-shaped buildings in Sanzhi District, New Taipei, Taiwan. The UFO Studio originated around the particularities of real estate model showrooms and the relationship between scale and the structure's autonomy.   The UFO Studio's structure replicates the form of the UFO Table. The Building form consists of a scaled, flipped, and rotated table form.

Fabrication:  Majer Metal Works
Envisioned on the heels of the pandemic, 1715|spiral responds to the need to extend the interior space of a second-floor back kitchen without diminishing the light and sense of space in a row-house garden. Being concept-driven, the challenging conditions of the pandemic also mirror the design concept—removing the central support of the spiral staircase and transcending its visual weight.

Eames® Molded Plywood Lounge Chair (LCM) from Herman Miller

Conceived in 1946 by the husband-and-wife design team of Charles and Ray Eames, the LCM (“lounge chair metal”) is an icon of mid-century modern design and represented in MoMA’s collection. The Eames® Molded Plywood Lounge Chair (LCM) is composed of a molded-plywood seat and back that sit on a powder-coated black steel frame, with neoprene shock mounts in between. The separate back and seat provide visual interest—and they also initially simplified production in the early days of the chair. Set low to the ground, the LCM has a seat that is tilted back slightly, cradling the body and making it an excellent and comfortable chair for lounging. The Eames® Molded Plywood Lounge Chair (LCM) is made in the USA by Herman Miller®, a manufacturer represented in MoMA’s collection, and it measures 26.5h X 22w x 24"d.
